Noah's first sentance

The words are flying fast and furious, he's adding many words a day now.

This is the first sentence I caught on video.

Newton's train

Noah figured out that if he let go of his train at the top of the ramp it would roll a fair way on its own

Dinner time

Karen fed Noah a dinner of broccoli and pizza, he was fine with the pizza.

Helpful boy

Noah loves helping to unload the dishwasher, especially doing the cutlery.

The Weather

Noah is coming to terms with our Seattle weather. He pointed at the falling rain on Saturday and said "pee pee."

He is also spinning around and dancing a lot these days.

Busses and cars

One of Noah's early words was bus. Starting maybe 4 months ago whenever he'd see a bus he happily yell "Busssssth" and excitedly point at the bus. Soon afterwards any large vehicle became a bus, including airplanes as long as they were on the ground.

Today, when taking Noah out to the car he pointed at the car and said, quite distinctly, "Car!" He then repeated himself 10 or 20 times. Noah is an amazing kid, and I now completely understand why all parents hold the firm conviction that their child is a genius, children are geniuses, and Noah is too.

Stay tuned for some pics and a movie in the next day or so.

More of Noah's words

Noah is now able to say words with hard consonants at the end, specifically, he can now say "cup"!

The other day Noah pointed at the moon (you can see it here even midday) and yelled "ball!"

His favourite word is still bottle, which he says a lot. He has at least one bottle in his hand most of the time. When he leaves the house it's almost guaranteed that he'll have a bottle with him.

One of our friends gave us some advice, which was that Noah would become attached to some toy or other, and that as soon as we determined what that toy was, we should buy several so that the security toy shouldn't be lost. The trick was to rotate the versions of the toy out, so that he would accept any of the replacements.

It's almost certain that Noah's special toy is a water bottle. Not any specific bottle, any of a variety of bottles seem equivalent and excellent.

It's the day after DST and Noah has been pushing his push toy back and forth for the past 30 minutes, he seems very happy!

Noah and Harry in Black & White

People keep pointing out that Noah looks like various different people. Here's one more comparision, the man on the left is my maternal grandfather, Harry. I believe he's 13 or so in the photo.

Black beans a la Doris

He's a very stylish eater, notice the very small bauble on his wrist...
